**ATENISTA, MAGPAKABANA!**

      Atenista, Magpakabana! is SAMAHAN’s very own campaign for clean and honest 2013 elections. Aside from this, its objectives is to raise awareness on the upcoming 2013 elections, to  identify the national issues that concern us, the Ateneans the most!

     This campaign is divided into three main parts:

Atenista Magpakabana Schedule

     3.1 Voters’ Registration

     To make registration for first time voters easier, the SAMAHAN has invited members from the  COMELEC to conduct their Voter’s Satellite Registration at the gazebo areas on September 7, 2012 (Friday) from 8AM-5PM. The registration is only for residents of the District 1 area, which include barangays belonging to Poblacion and Talomo. Students need only to bring their valid identification card and a copy of the birth certificate is not needed anymore.

*update!  Registration for Districts 1, 2 and 3 will take place on September 25, 2012 from 10 am to 5 pm!

What is a valid ID? Your school ID will do but just in case, here is a list of valid ID’s according to COMELEC:

  1. Current employee’s identification card (ID), with the signature of the employer or authorized representative;
  2. Postal ID;
  3. Student’s ID or library card, signed by the school authority;
  4. Senior Citizen’s ID;
  5. Driver’s license;
  6. NBI/PNP clearance;
  7. Passport;
  8. SSS/GSIS ID;
  9. Integrated Bar of the Philippine (IBP) ID;
  10. License issued by the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) and;
  11. Any other valid ID.

The ID should bear the applicant’s photo, signature, and complete address. The poll body has likewise emphasized that community tax certificates (cedulas) and other certifications and IDs issued by barangay officials will not be honored.

During the activity period on the same date, a short program will also be conducted to officially launch this campaign.

3.2 Ateneo Youth Agenda (AYA)

     The Ateneo Youth Agenda or AYA Survey is a survey conducted by all member schools of BUKLOD Atenista (AdDU, AdMU, AdNU, AdZU and XU) and this survey seeks to identify the top social issues which Ateneans think the national and local politicians should address this election.

3.3 SAMAHAN Talks  SAMAHAN Talks: Atenista Ko, Magpakabana Ko!

     SAMAHAN Talks is a voters’ education forum which will be held on September 21, 2012 during the activity period at the Finster Auditorium. Here, the survey results of the AYA will be presented and a discussion about the ELECTION-LENTE ( a network of lawyers and paralegals working for truthful elections in the Philippines) will be conducted.
