DEPARTMENT OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS

The Department of External Affairs is the primary arm of the SAMAHAN Central Board for managing external engagements under the Office of the SAMAHAN President. Anchored in student-centered initiatives, it facilitates national and international opportunities for Ateneo de Davao students and represents SAMAHAN in external partnerships and alliances, including Buklod Atenista and Unyon ng mga Estudyante sa Mindanao (Unyon Mindanao).

ECOTENEO STUDENT UNIT

The SAMAHAN Ecoteneo Student Unit (ESU) is the official environmental advocacy arm of the SAMAHAN Central Board, committed to championing ecological justice and student-led action for the planet. Inspired the Jesuit call to care for our common home, ESU serves as a space where advocacy takes root, and where compassion is transformed into concrete initiatives.

The SAMAHAN Department of Campaigns and Advocacies is the advocacy arm of the SAMAHAN Central Board under the Office of the SAMAHAN President. It aims to amplify the voices of Ateneans in actualizing the pursuit of serving the University, Mindanao, and the Philippines.

The Student Needs and Services Department focuses on addressing students' welfare, needs, and access to services. It is a centralized body tasked with handling long-term student support programs, ensuring that services related to student life are better coordinated and sustained.

Own It: PrideFest 2025

Own It: PrideFest 2025

Own It: Pride Fest 2025 is a celebration made for the LGBTQIA+ community and everyone who stands with it. Held every June for Pride Month, this event is all about embracing who you are, lifting each other up, and owning your story without fear. With the theme “Own It,” Pride Fest invites people to show up as their truest selves—loud, proud, and unapologetic. It’s a space to connect, to feel seen, and to be reminded that every identity and every story deserves to be heard.

The Ateneo Caravan 2025: Adulting On the Move

The Ateneo Caravan: Adulting On the Move served as the university’s third satellite registration event, offering a one-stop hub for government and private services directly on campus. Organized by the JPSPM–AdDU Chapter in collaboration with key SAMAHAN departments and UCEAC, the initiative aimed to make civic processes more accessible by reducing logistical barriers and encouraging active citizenship among students and the wider Davao community.

The SAMAHAN released the Calendar of Activities for A.Y. 2025–2026 through SAMASync, offering the Ateneo community a clear preview of the year’s programs and initiatives. Designed to keep students informed and on the move, the calendar highlights key events that will guide and engage the community throughout the academic year.

Uniform Assistance & Donation | In partnership with UCEAC

The SAMAHAN, in partnership with UCEAC, launched a collection drive for reusable AdDU uniforms donated by alumni and students. This initiative aims to provide uniform support to scholars and students from low-income families by offering gently used uniforms free of charge. The program promotes student welfare and sustainability while helping reduce financial barriers within the Ateneo community.

University Locker Rental

The Physical Plant Office (PPO) opened locker reservations for all AdDU students on a first-come, first-served basis. Guidelines and the reservation link were released through official channels, with lockers designated for use at the 3F Finster Hall to provide students with secure on-campus storage.

The SAMAHAN launched the first-ever Jam in Faith: The Ateneo Praise Fest, a university-wide worship gathering held on August 14, 2025 at the 4F Martin Hall. The event brought together students, musicians, and campus ministries in a night of music and shared prayer, highlighting the community’s collective movement toward deeper faith, unity, and purpose as part of the university’s ongoing commitment to spiritual formation.

Magis on the Move in Sta. Maria

Magis on the Move held on August 21, 2025, in Sta. Maria, brought together young leaders to engage in SDG-aligned, community-focused initiatives. The program, supported by SAMAHAN iGov, provided participants with tools, guidance, and collaborative spaces to strengthen their leadership skills and foster meaningful local impact.

SAMAHAN Volo Service

The SAMAHAN Volo Service Program, launched in partnership with the Ateneo de Davao Scholars Society and supported by OSP and OST’s Scholars Care, provides undergraduate scholars with meaningful opportunities to complete their required service hours. The program encourages a culture of volunteerism within the university, with volunteer slots released on a first-come, first-served basis and verified through certification to be attached to the SSTR at the end of the semester.

SAMAHAN iGov: The Ateneo Linkages Hub serves as the University’s platform for fostering strategic partnerships, collaborations, and institutional linkages beyond Ateneo de Davao University. Through this initiative, students engage with networks that strengthen advocacies, expand leadership opportunities, and drive meaningful social impact, connecting the Ateneo community with programs and initiatives that inspire service and civic engagement.

Approval of Athletes’ Civilian Entry Pass

As part of SAMAHAN’s 4YOU Agenda, the Athletes’ Civilian Entry Pass has been approved by the Office of Student Affairs, allowing student-athletes to enter Ateneo de Davao University in their athletic attire under regulated conditions. Endorsed by the University Athletics Office and the College Athletics Council, this initiative supports student-athletes in balancing their training and academic responsibilities while upholding the University’s dress code and decorum. It reflects SAMAHAN’s commitment to recognizing their dedication, fostering leadership, and promoting adaptability and discernment.

The Pre-DACS Honorary Blue Knight’s Send-Off (#KickOff2025) celebrated Ateneo athletes as they prepared to represent the University in the Davao Association of Catholic Schools (DACS) competitions. Kick-Off 2025: All the Way Up celebrates the dedication, resilience, and spirit of Ateneo athletes and performers as they prepare for DACS 2025. Honoring the discipline behind every practice, performance, and victory, this event recognizes how their hard work uplifts not just themselves but the entire Ateneo community. It is a moment for the University to stand together in support, cheering on those who carry Ateneo’s pride and inspiring everyone to rise—All the Way Up—toward shared excellence.
